First Healthy Food Haul of the Year

It's the 6th of January and for me that means Christmas is over. Christmas is my favourite time of year but I am ready for the new year to start with a bang. Last year I managed to drop 40lb and am SO proud of myself, although I should never have let myself get to my highest weight in the first place I've never lost such a significant amount before, and although I still have a good 25-30lb to go I've never been more motivated. Like most people I've put on the odd pound over the festive period so to kick start the healthy regime again I went healthy eating shopping!

Unfortunately the decision to embark on a healthier lifestyle is not always the cheapest option so I find it better to shop around when I have the time. My first stop was actually Poundland! I popped in for sandwich bags and ended up with a lot more! I find keeping myself organised is the best way of being able to keep track of my eating habits and they had so many options, I came away with 10 mini 'snack size' pots, a box of zip lock backs to separate my fresh things into portions, and a bundle of 4 plastic tubs for the rest of the weeks dinner prep. Whilst I was there I also found they had a great variety of weight watchers foods (which can be pricey) for, of course, £1!

My main food purchases were mostly fruits and veg, chocolate almond milk (for those sweet cravings) and my favourite turkey steaks at an unbeatable £2.99 from Aldi

After, broccoli, sugar snap peas and sweet potato ready for the week. Turkey added later after a quick 5 mins on the George Forman

2014! Resolutions and more!

2014 is here!! I'm feeling really positive about this coming year.... Personally, many things last year made 2013 was a pretty terrible year. However, I'm taking it upon myself to take charge this year and make sure to make the most out of 2014 and to have the best time, as always I've made some new years resolutions and again, as always, I'm determined to stick to them, although we'll see how that goes.

1. Take more PHOTOS!
I'm not one of those people you see constantly taking photos of everything they do and see, despite the fact that I love looking at other peoples photos and am almost always on Instagram just scrolling through peoples' posts. I don't want to regret not capturing every memory to look back on when I'm older when we're so fortunate to live in a day and age where 1000s of potential photographs are at the touch of a button sat in our pockets.

2. Be more ORGANISED!
I try my damned hardest to be an organised person but always let myself get lazy. Life is so much simpler when you keep things tidy and organised but it just does not come naturally to me. So as I'm starting out a (slightly early) spring clean, I fear this will be another resolution that doesn't last very long.

3. Get FIT!
The one good thing about last year was that I had some much deserved success losing weight and getting fit after some HARD WORK. It's very easy to forget how far you've already come when you aren't quite where you want to be yet. I'm making it my personal mission this year to remind myself how well I've already done and that I CAN go the distance

I love hearing other peoples resolutions so my question is... what are yours?!
